MACROERGONOMICS: A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON ERGONOMICS
I.I. Vasil’eva, Institute of Psychology, Russian Science Academy, Moscow
The article provides an overview of macroergonomics as a new paradigm of ergonomics based mainly on English-language articles. The background of its occurrence, basic concepts, statements and methods of macroergonomics as well as modern state, personalities and an example of the specific macroergonomic case of safety culture forming are considered. It is demonstrated that the macroergonomics has arisen as result of through-boundaries development of the traditional subject of ergonomics and shows a clear trend to integration with organizational psychology. The necessity of development of the systemic-theoretical model of macroergonomics is specified and the ergatic system is considered as proper one.
Keywords: macroergonomics; ergonomics; organization psychology; labour organization; safety culture; participatory ergonomics; work system; safety at petroleum distribution operation; safety at power plant; activity approach.
